Sleep, Glorious Sleep

The past several days Nick has decided that midday naps are for chumps, and he ain’t no chump. I’ve found that I’ve really come to rely on that break in my day so I’ve been pretty dang tired this week.

But today he is blessing me with a nap finally and I may just join him for some sweet shut eye here soon. I haven’t been sleeping well lately because I am not allowed to sleep on my stomach and am very close to not being allowed to sleep on my back, so that leaves my sides. When I lay on my left I hear my heart pounding in my ear and on my right my hip goes all numb and tingly. It sucks to be pregnant at night.

This morning at 4:00am I woke up to go to the bathroom and then couldn’t go back to sleep. I was so painfully hungry that I had to get up and make some toast at 4:00am! That is ridiculous! Lately I think the little one has been going through a growth spurt so I have been too. I have been a bottomless pit. I think I liked it better before when I wasn’t hungry.

The First Real Snow

Okay, not the first snow we’ve had this winter, but Sunday we took Nick outside to play in the snow for the first time. He was not overly enthusiastic. At all. In fact he didn’t think he could walk in the snow. And he didn’t like touching the snow. And he didn’t like the snowman Mike built. He did like watching Roscoe run from the snowballs Mike was throwing at him though.

Snowsuit from Cheri

Isn’t he adorable in the snowsuit? He did feel pretty spiffy in it.

Mike's first time building a snowman

This is the first snowman Mike has ever built. How do you live in the Midwest and make it to 29 without ever building a snowman?

No strangling the cat!

He loves the cats sooooo much!

Time spent dancing with the family: A lot. To this most excellent song:

(And while we’re on the subject of showering… Mike was in the shower a couple days ago and I was complaining about how dry my hair has been lately and that my conditioner just hasn’t been working for me. He said, “What have you been using, this?” He held up a travel sized bottle of lotion. Yes, lotion. For almost two weeks now. Sometimes I even scare myself.)
