And boy did it!

Oh yeah, he pooped today. Yessiree. Wow.

He pooped a ton in the yard at my mom’s house so we celebrated with a trip to Costco. Later he was still super whiny and complaining about the “doop” so we came home for an early bedtime. Then he pooped again. Well that explained the whining! A bit later he got really ornery and dumped a glass of water on me so I sent him to bed with no books. About five minutes later he was yelling at me and knocking on his door — you guessed it! More poop!

Okay, so now the constipation is no longer an issue, how do I get him to stop?!?

This too shall pass?

Still waiting for the end of this wretched not-sleeping-always-fussing-baby-angry-baby-SMASH! phase because I’m tired. This baby is such a Gemini, and is so following right along in her brother’s footsteps. She’s an old pro at rolling over already. In fact she seems to be speeding right along with all these developmental milestones and will probably be walking next week, then the week after that she’s going to steal the car and go for a late night joyride over to Babies R’ Us. Damn kids.

Also I would like for Nick to not get constipated anymore. It is really hard on all of us and so far the Poop Doula has had no success. I feel terrible for the kid but the whining, oh god the whining is driving me bananas. He is clearly in a lot of pain but I think mostly he is just holding it in — this is the curse of the subsequent bouts of constipation, the fear makes it worse. Ugh. Well if his laxative doesn’t work tonight tomorrow we’re going ahead with the enema. Good times!

I think Mike’s trip to Norway is happening at possibly the worst time ever. If I didn’t have my mom to help us out I think terrible things may have transpired. More terrible than having to wipe wet poop off my son’s butt with my bare hand while he was naked in my mom’s back yard sprinkler. Hypothetically.

I only have to make it three more days…

The beginning of the end.

Zoey can roll over.

I’m just going to say that again: Zoey can roll over.

And I’m not giving credit for the halfway-shoulder-stuck-under roll, she’s all over the REAL roll. BACK TO FRONT PEOPLE, BACK TO FRONT. Today she did that and then rolled back onto her back, and then onto her tummy again! I looked in Nick’s baby book and she’s got a good three weeks on him at least. Looks like we’re in for it again…

Crabbutt.

So. Much. To. Write. About. No. Time!

Long story short:

Cleaning.

Nicholas is allergic to… something. All the skin on his hands and feet is peeling off and he’s leathery. Not pretty on a two-year-old (or anyone for that matter).

Lots of family in town.

Nicholas’ legs and feet are cockamaimy. Chiropractor. New shoes with custom orthodics! Allergy testing! Third mortgage?

Big party! Lots of fun, went well, pictures are up over on Mike’s blog.

Ahhh, lunch with Mike and no kids. I could get used to this.

TYPING. A LOT OF TYPING today to help out the mom.

And here we are. All caught up! I wish I had more time to write anymore but the days are flying by faster than ever. And it is hard to type with only one hand while nursing.

We did actually sit down to watch a movie last night because we could start it while the young man was still awake. We watched “The World’s Fastest Indian” which was wayyyyyyy better than I thought it would be. Actually I thought it was great, even though it was about motorcycles.

Oh, and you may wonder about the title of this post, which refers to my nearly three-month-old crabbutt baby. She’s in one of those lovely developmental leaps and is not her usual smiley self. I’ve found that the biggest blessing of no longer being a first time mom is that now I know this too shall pass.

Oh my god.

They changed the theme song of “Sesame Street.” It’s been the same since I watched it when I was a kid, and seemed to be the same now that Nick is watching it. Then the new season started and the song is different. What is this world coming to?
