So helpful!

Mike sent me an email with this link titled “Now I know why Zoey won’t sleep.” Sheesh, wish we would’ve looked at this AGES ago, could’ve saved us a lot of trouble.

I’m gonna LoJack that damn baby doll.

Okay, I love that my little boy is so into his baby doll. I love that he named it (sounds something like “Rick” or “Mick,” is it “Nick?” It is never any name that I guess but it is always the same word… interesting). I love that he sleeps with it every night and feeds it apple slices and nurses just like I do with his sister.

All of these things are wonderful, unless the baby is M.I.A. The horror! The horror! This is the first time Nick has had a comfort object so now I know what it is like if it goes missing, and it is not pretty. Am I the only parent out there that thinks their kid purposely hides their softie just to extend their bedtime?

In other news, you may have noticed that I added a widget for the “Oh! Baby Buy Products” blog. They’ve got this Great Northern Giveaway contest going on over there and I really want to win the ginormous prize package that includes five (!) pairs of BabyLegs. I want it for the BabyLegs most of all, I am so smitten with them. They remind me of the 80’s in a totally rad way. Sure I could just BUY some but like the commercial for eBay says, “It’s better when you win it.” So true.

I guess I needed it.

My mom came over this morning to watch the kids while I caught a nap, you know, because of the sleep deprivation. She said she had an appointment at 2pm but I laughed and told her I was sure I’d be up long before then. Well two and a half hours later she had to come wake me up! I could not believe I slept that long but I guess I was tired or something. The weird thing is that I didn’t feel crappy like I normally would after a long nap, I didn’t feel refreshed, I just felt a bit surprised. I got up, changed Zoey’s diaper, got her down for a nap, and went about my day as usual.

I know that soon she’ll start sleeping better (I hope) — I know this from going through the exact same thing with Nicholas, and from reading about this exact same thing with almost every baby this age, and from talking to other moms with babies this age who are equally zombie-like. I figure I’ve got about two more months and then we’ll be good for a while. Of course this time I’m wiser and there will be no getting pregnant again during that blissful 12-15 month age when Nature tries to trick you into thinking this parenting gig is gonna be easy. I am so wise to that little evolutionary deception. Fool me once…

New pictures!

Okay, I FINALLY got new pictures up over at Karrmedia. Sorry it has been SO LONG, like since September or something. I couldn’t remember when exactly so I just did the best I could. At least I know I hadn’t uploaded changes in December so there is that.

Since I’ve been withholding the pictures and haven’t really been blogging at all let me just catch you up: my kids are cute. The little one doesn’t like sleeping so much though so I haven’t had much energy to divert into the non-essentials (like this). Aside from the not sleeping from the stomach flu, and the not sleeping from the 6-month sleep regression, there has been the not sleeping from the gangbuster teething she’s been doing. She popped through two in the past three days. That brings us up to three, which unfortunately means we’ve got at least one more to go before we see any relief for a bit. I’m tired.
