You may want to just skip this one if you don’t want to hear about my lady-business, and you probably should just skip it anyway if you weren’t born with a uterus.

Anybody still with me? Good.

I finally have my answer to some questions that have been nagging at me for weeks: Where is all my energy? Why do I feel like I want to kill myself? Why do I want ice cream all the time? Why am I feeling so crampy? Do you see where this is all going? So did I but I was trying really hard to blame it all on being tired or having a cyst or something.

It’s back. I have my period back and I am BUMMED OUT, man. That is one of the biggest perks of breastfeeding and just like that the vacation is over. Zoey’s still mostly nursing so I don’t know what happened, I’m just not as lucky this time around I guess. I shouldn’t be surprised though because everything was so different with my pregnancies and post-partum. I’m just way disappointed. This stinks.

At least now I can blame my fall on hormonal ligament bendiness. Right? Right?

Clumsy fool.

I took a tumble today at the City Market. Yeeeouch! I was walking over to the Asian market and Nick was insisting that I carry him when out went my ankle and down I went. And boy people were just rushing to my aid as I lay on the ground, child in my arms, trying to figure out if I could still walk. NOT! Thankfully I could still walk (limp) and I successfully protected Nick on the way down. I escaped with a skinned knee, a sore back, a sore ankle, a bruised elbow, and a badly bruised ego. But the kid isn’t hurt! That’s something!

Oh and I cut myself with a knife while I was doing dishes a few days ago. Anyone have a helmet they can loan me?

By the way, 5 Minutes for Mom is doing a rad contest called Two Weeks of Toys (may I draw your attention to the button in the sidebar?). You should check it out!

Random Thought Thursdays

Reader and friend Cheri suggested this week’s Random thought:

“Ever wonder what a Dachshund Great Dane mix would look like? I’ve actually heard of one… I so want to see what that looks like ;o)”

Well Cheri, unfortunately my exhaustive internet search for a picture turned up empty. I did however stumble upon a thread about this particular creation, and let me tell you those dog lover message boards can get UGLY. FAST.

A Grand Day Out

Last Wednesday was a beeeeautiful day in good old KC so Mike called in “Well” to work and spent the day with us. So off we went to the Zoo for some wholesome family fun.  I’ll fill you in on the highlights:

Nick was really happy about seeing the animals but he was most excited to see the train.

While I was bending over to pick Cheerios out of Zoey’s seat a small boy started repeatedly poking me in the butt with a stick. Now that makes a girl feel good about herself!

One of the monkeys had recently had a baby and was very protective of it. The baby would claw it’s way out of it’s mother’s grasp to eat a leaf or make some other mischief (ALL babies are the SAME) and she kept pulling it back and holding it while shooting reproachful looks at us. One of the times the baby got about a foot away from it’s mom and Zoey coughed and Iamnotevenkidding that baby monkey SCREAMED and it’s eyes were HUGE and in a fraction of a second it was back in mommy’s protective arms. Man, we felt like jerks after that one. Poor baby. One question though… Is it really such a good idea to yell out when you get scared by a predator?

It was a very good day we all had. It ended with a trip to Oklahoma Joe’s for some tasty, tasty BBQ, then home to rest. We were all tired, and one of us was sunburned, but I won’t point fingers.

(It was me.)
