The City Market is in full swing again so we drove down there this morning to procure ourselves some delicious local produce. By “we” I mean my mom, the kids and I since Mike doesn’t get back until laaaaaate tonight. Finally!
We walked up and the first thing we saw (obviously) was the gigantic inflatable slide and jumperoo thing, which started Nick freaking out over. I paid the very surly teenager running the thing and he went in. And came right back out. He was scared so I explained to him how safe it is, and that you fall down a lot but it doesn’t hurt… FUN right? He seemed convinced and went back in. Jumping commenced and fun was had.
At least for a couple of minutes until the air pump spluttered and then shut off. The punk kids running the thing looked really confused for a minute, then started screaming “EVERYBODY GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT QUIIIIIIICK!” as the massive thing was deflating at an alarming speed. My poor boy. He was like a little deer in headlights all the way in the back, confused and frightened. Several people were trying to hold up fold upon fold of mesh and plastic while I reached under to grab him. Got him out just in time!
We’ll just call this a character building experience and hope he isn’t too scarred. Between this and the tornadoes it’s been a rough week for the little guy!
