Random Thought… What day is it again?

Nick has been in Zoo Preschool every morning this week. Hypothetically this morning I may or may not have blatently run a stop light right in front of a police station. If I did, hypothetically, I succeeded in getting him there on time. Zoo Preschool waits for no one.

Last night around midnight I shook Mike awake, urgently saying, “Honey! Honey! There are 27 couches.” I don’t know what I was dreaming about but it sure does sound comfortable.

Yesterday I drove 65 miles in the car running errands all over this city. This reminds me how very little I usually drive, and how much I like it that way.

Mike won tickets to “The Grand Tasting” this Saturday in Columbia, Missouri. This was terribly exciting for us until we realized that our children need people to care for them… you know, make sure they don’t play with knives or eat cat litter. Alas this weekend those people will be us. Who wants to fly to Kansas City for a  few days while we go galavanting about drinking wine? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

The full mon can suck it: Volume 2, unfortunately.

We’ve secretly replaced Mike and Katie’s children who sleep through the night with ones that cry hysterically all night long… Let’s see if they notice.

Um, yeah.

Last night was not so good. We were kind of laughing about it at 10:30pm when we went to bed because Zoey was so completely hysterically inconsolable. At 11:30pm not so much. At 12:30am we were kind of unsympathetic to her plight. By 2:30am downright irritated. By 4:30am kill me, kill me now.

Nothing helped her. Rescue Remedy, Ibuprofen, snacks and water, being in our bed, being in her crib, singing, cuddling. She hated everything.

Then this morning adorable and smiley! Good morning everybody! The moon was away for the day and so was her bad mood.

Mike stayed home today so both of us could get some rest. Then he watched the kids this afternoon while I had my very first Parent-Teacher meeting about Nicholas. In summary he is fitting in well, shares, plays well, cooperates, is a hands-on learner, and has a very ornery streak. Hmmm… I think he gets that one from his father.

Maybe it is from that darn full moon.

Random Thought Thursdays

Here’s a little thing I learned recently: Don’t show up to preschool early. Even if it’s five minutes early and you just thought it would be a good idea since it was your day to bring the snack and you thought a few extra minutes to unload was okay. It is not okay. You will catch the teacher before she has put on her happy face for the day. Trust me, DO NOT show up to preschool early.
